  PSU's relationship with the community is reciprocal. The University strives to improve the quality of life in the metropolitan area by providing the community with access to liberal education and programs with special relevance to urban issues. In return, the Portland metropolitan area provides PSU with a wide array of resources that enhance the teaching and learning opportunities available to students and faculty. How do PSU students learn in the community? Do students gain employment skills through community-based courses? How are community projects realted to major fields of study at PSU?
